Today, the 5th of March 2015 is World Book Day; a celebration of all things literary, be it authors, poets, books, illustrators or anything else related to the written word. Above all, it’s a celebration of reading and all the enjoyment, knowledge and inspiration it can bring to people’s lives. According to the World Book Day website it’s the biggest literary celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading and acknowledged in over 100 countries across the globe.
To join in on the World Book Day celebrations, we’ve decided to delve back in time to BBC’s Big Read survey carried out in 2003 in order to find the best-loved books of all time. After all, here at PhonicsThruMusic we understand how important it is for readers to enjoy and connect with the material they’re reading. So, in honour of this we’ve decided to republish the list of the top 20 books from the Big Read survey as voted for by the Great British public, so here goes:
best books, books to read before you die, encouraging reading, learning to read, literacy, reading, the big read, top 20 books, top books, world book day,
