Phonics Tips for Parents

7th November 2014

As I’m sure we all know, there has been much debate about whether synthetic phonics is the correct and most effective approach to teach reading at school. But whether you’re a detractor or proponent of the method, we must now accept it is the approach backed by the government and therefore utilised in schools across the land.

But as parents, you may be unfamiliar with the synthetic phonics method and perhaps are reluctant to read with your child using your own tried and tested method.
